The godly insrument you need to remove the woofer is a 10mm socket . The amplifier for it is mounted just to the passenger side of the woofer with 2 more 10mm bolts that are visible from the front of the woofer mounting plate. You can reach through the woofer hole and remove the amp once you loosen the 2 bolts that hold it in place. It is a small (roughly 5" x 5" x 3") box with a black cover, has a plug with 7 wires, and has a "Bose" sticker on it.

When installing a new system to say a DNX7120, the stock amp to the stock sub automatically gets canceled out through the aftermarket wiring harness or do you have to disconnect the connection at the amp to make sure its off?
Is it possible to replace the stock speaker amp in the back with a aftermarket one..and use the existing wiring for the speakers..I am sure the power and ground would have to be run but what about the actual speaker wire? And how big is the stock speaker amp space in the back? Big enough to fit a small 200 watt amp?
