Default Need some advice on new speakers for my set up!

I have a pioneer head unit , 2 pioneer subs 1000Watts max each and 350RMS each sub, and a rockfor fosgate p8002 amplifier. I have bought some pioneer 4 way speakers 260Watts max, and I was wondering if those are any good, or should I not change my speakers, is it really that much better than stock? thanks

A speaker that does not have a tweeter mounted in the driver.

They will come with a cross over. Basically, a pair or components is really 4 speakers. 2 mid bass drivers and 2 tweeters with 2 crossovers.

To answer your question directly, those Pioneer coaxials will sound better than stock. Are they going to be powered off the headunit or amped?

These are components. They will also sound better than stock. They sport the Alpine name, so the quality can't be too bad. I have no direct experience with this exact set though.

I think I'm scared to ask, but what exactly do you mean? This is a 2 channel amp and you said in your OP that it is already powering your subs.

right, but you can't run a stereo pair off of 1 channel of an amp.........you need to buy another amp. You can't run a pair of components and two subs off a 2-channel amp.

OK, here are the specs on your P8002:
200W x 2 @ 4-Ohms RMS
400W x 2 @ 2-Ohms RMS
800W x 1 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS

in order to bridge the amp, I hope you have your subs wired to a 4ohm load and have them connected to the speaker terminals I highlighted in yellow. The ones I "x" in red are useless because the amp is 'bridged' so all of its resources are being used by the drivers connected to the yellow terminals.

Conclusion, you will need another 2-channel amp to power your components.
