Dude, I hope you upgraded your electrical system, your alternator must be dying. A few more batteries wouldn't hurt either.

Would you be able to tell me the volume of airspace per chamber if we were to chop the top by 1.5" as well as 2"? I'm leaning more towards a 2" chop as I think there will still be enough airspace.

Thanks again Mike.

Hi
I'll figure the airspace when I stop by the shop this weekend and confirm its doable.

I'm thinking a shorter version of this box may be a design I'll offer for 10's. It would have great mounting depth and airspace. I also like where the box sits. It leaves a lot of trunk space. Thanks Mike

wrangler 200 amp alt already installed a year or so ago

new set up will still have stinger 1000 under hood
still have 200 amp alt as well
but will have 5-6 runs of 1/0 , instead of current 4 runs
also will have 6-7 singer 680 instead of current 3

I agree with that 100%. I like the box behind the strut bar instead of wedged underneath it.

Do you like that alt? Did it require any modifications to get it to fit and work? I was thinking of upgrading my alternator but I was going to go with Ohio Gen.

i have been using wrangler alts since

1989 mustang gt
1992 mustang gt
1996 impala ss
2006 350z

they make full power at 1500 rpm

always perfect without fail

talk to Stan at wrangler

no mods bolt up

also when you install
upgrade the the + wire, from 6awg to 1/0 ,from + post on under hood battery, to alt

and upgrade + wire from 6 awg , to 1/0 awg , from alt to starter

How are the prices? I was thinking around $500 give or take. Is your Z your daily driver? If I go with a HO alternator, I need it to be able to perform daily and be 100% reliable.

I just ordered my Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D. Only $425 including shipping direct from the manufacturer, can't beat that. With the new box, two OEM 10's and this new amp, I hope it's a lot louder than my Zapco 500.1 and one 10W6v2.

Sorry about the delay. I never made it to the shop this weekend but I did get the info today.

For every inch we shorten the box the airspace is reduced 0.15ft^3. So, if we take 2" off the top the airspace drops down 0.30ft^3 making it a total of 1.70 or 0.85ft^3 for side/sub. Once you calculate the displacement of your sub your looking at being very close to the .75ft^3 you needed.

Thanks Mike

B5I8.......here's a couple pics of your box. I didn't get a chance to take any pics in the car. If you could send me some pics with it installed I'd appreciate it. Its shipping today.

These are pics of this 2-12" box modified for 10's. We shortened it to reduce the airspace and changed the top a little. .85ft^3 per side/sub with 8.5" of mounting depth.

Thanks Mike

Looks good, it's exactly how I wanted it. I'll be sure to snap some pics when I get it installed. You want me to post em here? Thanks for all your help. That box is going to be abused to the fullest.
