Default Raising windows from OEM remote - KPtechnologies Install

I recently installed a KPtechnologies Remote Window Up Module (www.KPtechnologies.com, $49.99) in a 2003 350Z.

The installation was pretty straight forward - pop the door panel off, make 5 wire connections, test the unit, and put the door panel back on.

The door panel comes off easy enough - there is a small panel behind the door pull handle that needs to be taken off to expose a 10mm screw that needs to be removed:

Next, there is a screw hidden under a plastic cap in the grab handle on the door:

Pop that cap off to reveal:

Next, gently pull up on the switch panel, starting from the end towards the rear of the car. This will expose 2 more 10mm screws:

Once all the fasteners are removed from the door the panel can literally be popped off. There are a handful of plastic clips that keep the panel attached to the door. Starting from the bottom of the door panel gently seperate the panel from the door. Lisle makes a door panel upholstry tool that works great, but if you are careful and take your time you don't have to have the special tool. With the door panel removed you will need to unsnap the door handle cable and the lock cable. You will also need to free the small light in the bottom of the door panel either by completely taking it out of the door panel or unplugging it.

With the door panel removed it is now time to take the speaker out. There are 3 10mm screws that hold it in. Behind the speaker there is a wire loom (a bundle of wires covered by black protectant plastic). The loom has a slit in it that allows you to access the wires. Pull the puple wire (LOCK ACTUATOR) out of the loom and connect it to the blue wire on the KPtechnologies module. Route the blue wire from the module through one of the unused holes in the door to get it inside the door - you may have to poke a hole through a thin hole cover if there are no exposed holes (make sure you don't route the wire through the speaker alignment hole, or through a hole that the door panel clips in to).

The other 4 wires are nice and easy to get to, as they are all in the main wire harness that goes to the power window switch:

Connect the black wire (GROUND) to the KPtechnologies black wire
Connect the thicker sky blue wire (RAP signal) to the KPtechnologies yellow wire
Connect the red wire (LOCK CYLINDER) to the KPtechnologies green wire
Connect the white wire (12VDC) to the KPtechnologies red wire

**** BEFORE making connections it is recomended that you verify ALL wiring with a voltmeter as different years/trims/makes/models/etc may have different wiring!!!!!!!!!!!!

With all the wires connected and taped plug the power window switch back in and test the module! Please note that the module will NOT work if the power window switches are not plugged in.

The module is triggered by pressing the "LOCK" button on the OEM remote, releasing it, waiting a short time (about .75 seconds) and then pressing and releasing it again. There is no need to hold the "LOCK" button down at any point.

Once the windows start to go up you can press and release the "LOCK" button a third time and make the windows stop, allowing them to stay vented (or to stop the windows shall something get in the path of the moving window).

If you have any questions let me know!
