Default Had new AVIC D3 installed and...

Having some issues. First off the sound is horrible. I had the bose system and changed out headunit and it seems 85% of sound is coming from front speakers 10% from sub and like 5% from rear deck speakers. The bose HU sounded much better plus the ipod music all sounds like ****. When i had the the tape thing in the bose with the plug in ipod headphone jack it sounded much better. does anyone have any suggesttions? i checked all of the sound setting and changed equalized settings, fad/bal all that when i fade to the rear i can barely hear any sound coming out of those rear speakers it sounds all muffled. someone help

make sured the loudness is turned on, make sure the High Pass filter is on, check connections. dont use the stage settings on the headunit, HPF works soo much better. the settings on the HPF and the sub are prob f'd up. check those settings and if you still dont see any improvement i suggest playing with the factory EQ settings that come preprogrammed and see if it makes any difference. if none of that works, your unit is prob bad and i would get it replaced. the sound from my D3 is very good, ipod plays very clear.

did you use the Pac-audio converter or are you sending the wrong amount of power to your stock amps?

hmm just thought, if the people that installed the unit found alternator whine they may have put ground loop isolators in and this would cause a loss in quality.

sounds like he just pulled the old Bose and put in the D3, although if amps were involved, insufficient power or having the gain too low would also do this. i do remember that some did have problems with the bose factory speakers and the stock amplifier when switching out the headunit. make sure that stock amplifier is properly bypassed.

I still have a hissing problem on mine when I mostly play the ipod. I don't think its the unit itself because when I play my girldreind's nano on there, it works perfect.

yea, just change the entire setup if it bothers you that much. I HIGHLY doubt its the Avic D3. Whenever you integrate with the stock system, things can go wrong or not be perfect. After a long process of searching and asking the pros, this is what I find to be true.

thats what i did, save yourself some money and do it yourself, its really not that hard. get a buddy with some car audio knowledge and wiring experience and you will be fine.

its really not that bad, just some some other 350z forums and this one and you will have no problem. worst part by far is running the power wire into the cabin through the firewall, PITMFA!!

I installed the Avic D3 and found it to be an improvement to the stock Bose unit.
At the same time I also installed the Bluetooth module, Traffic Sat Radio module
and modified the unit to operate DVD's while driving.

Over all, I am very pleased. I have none of the issued you reported, perhaps the
problem is with the unit itself.
