New audio build, answers/comments
Hi guys, after a lot of research mostly from this forum I've come up with a list of hardware that I will install. I have a couple of questions and any comments would be appreciated.
Fronts: either Diamond Audio D661s or s600s (which do you guys recommend?) with door pods.
Front amp: Alpine pdx 2.150 (settled on these although contemplating Eclipse XA2000 for the price)
Rear: will not run back speakers thanks to the input from the forum
Sub: FI Q10
sub amp: here's my 2nd question: which would you guys choose?:
alpine MRP-M1000 or
MB Quart PAB 1200.1D or
Rockford Fosgate T10001BD
They are currently out of stock of the fi q10 untill end of month, if they don't come in then i will likely go with IDq 10 with Eclipse XA1000 amp
sub enclosure: zenclosure understrut
sound deadening: Raammat with edead v4 (appears that v4 might be better than ensolite)
So to recap: my main 2 questions are
1. s600s or d661s
2. which sub amp alpine, MB, or RF
Thank you in advance.

The S600s will give a bit more midbass, the D661s sound a little thin, but some people don't like over-exaggerated midbass (me being one of them).
For the money, The Eclipse XA line is great. I am running an XA1000 to my sub and an XA2000 to my Diamond Audio D661s components. The alpines are nice too, but they cost more for the same technology. Pioneer has a new Premier line of amps that also use the full range class D technology and they look nice as well, but I'm not too sure of pricing on those.
For your sub amp......if you don't care about brand matching your component amp then I am a big fan of Crossfire amps for subwoofer duties. A Crossfire VR1000D would be nice to push a dual-2ohm Fi Q wired at 1ohm. But if you must go with one of the 3 that you list, I would take the Rockford over the other 2.

as for the amp, i looked into crossfire, but the amps i mentioned were a bit better priced. The RF amp is not a class D, are class D's better or not as good for SQ with FI q10?

Since with a sub, you will be crossing over around 80Hz, a lot of mid bass is not a necessity. The D661s will be fine to mate with the FiQ.
The Rockford amp is a hybrid class bd switching monoblock amp, it is made for subwoofer duties. Maybe not as efficient as a straight class d amp, but shouldn't be a big deal.

If you want to save some cash, a decent lower cost option would be a HiFonics BXi1208D

I'm running their Daytona series to power my FI Q 10 but i've heard good things about the TXA also.

Audio build finished
Just wanted to thank everyone who helped my install especially StreetOC192 and dj.kickz and everyone else who contributed to my install indirectly from the wealth of knowledge on the forum. I don't post much, but, have been a member since 2003 when I bought my car. I also want to thank Mike from zenclosures, very helpful, and Nazar wicked cas. Nothing special about my install, so i will list components, please feel free to PM or post if anyone else has questions. I have to say, the doors were the hardest part to do (sound deadening and pods and xovers, etc.).
car came with the basic audio
prior a/v. In 2004 put in a via mini ITX carputer in the glove box, with a liliput screen where the stock gps screen would have been, along with a panasonic 8400 HU which btw I love (puts out 26rms). So this sufficed till recently.
onto this, i incorporated:
raammat andd edead v4 to doors, floors, glove box area, hatch.
knuconcepts amp kit for 4g plus extra speaker wire from them (great wires)
diamond audio s600s components in nazar pods and with tweeter mounted onto door itself.
alpine pdx 2.150 and us amps md1d on custom vinyl wrapped amp rack in area behind drivers side.
zenclosure understrut with fi q10 sub. (more than enough power, have gain turned down) wired 1 ohm
very pleased overall.
thanks and feel free to ask question. Sorry, don't have pictures, but nothing special about it, plenty of pictures on the forum allready

No not in the door pods, put 3layers of raammat and 2 of v4 through the oem speaker hole on the inside of the outer shell. the first layer was as wide as I could reach through the whole. ie did not cover the whole outer shell, I did cover the whole part of the inner shell. I used the whole roll of raammat for the doors floor and back in the glove box areas,(60sqft) I was pretty thorough, then added some edead (didn't want to buy another roll of raammat) to the trunk area (about 25 sq feet)
