Got my usa-spec interface hooked up today after 6 hours of dickin around..obviously Im not into installing stereo type stuff. I am so ocd about doing it perfect as well
I had it hooked up...very neatly and had it playing all the time I hooked it up and was putting the dash together so I would know if something shut down, before I had it reassembled.
Had it all together and I turned off the car and started it back up and was still working fine-showed the Wife and she loved it.
I then listened to the radio and pressed the cd6 button on my stock Bose and my cds started playing. I tried pressing the cd button again and a third time in order to toggle betweenthe cd player and "CD Change" so the unit could recognize the interface and play my ipod...nothing. I then disconnected and connected my ipod. The screen indicates it is recognizing the usa-spec interface but it won't switch over to play thru the cd part of my Bose. Way too much time on this for it not to play. I tried my wife's ipod..same thing
Can anyone help?? Has this ever happened to anyone before????

Connector from the USA-spec to the iPod may have come unplugged.

I called usa/spec and explained my situation. They are going to send me a new interface box. I really don't know what could of caused it..fine one minute/not working the next??
Either way I am going to have to rip the whole dash out again!!
Right now I feel that I should not of installed it

Did you ever get this resolved? I installed one (I've got the bose stereo with the built in changer and CD6 button) and it never worked in the first place. Like you, I'm pretty pis*ed because I wasted three hours doing the install. Called Crutchfield and they're sending me a replacement. Anything else to look out for?
