Default Avic D3 Issue: IPOD freezing

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, I tried to search for a solution, but millions of threads came up but no answers.

Anyway, The problem I am having is that I will have either my iphone or ipod plugged in, it will play for a while, then all of a sudden it will freeze. The Ipod interface freezes on the D3 as well as the ipod.

I had this problem before, I unplugged and restarted the D3 and that fixed it, until recently I tried to do the same thing but it does not work. It has occurred multiple times recently.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Oh and also, does anyone know how to restart the ipod. I forgot how to do that.

Thanks in advance

I believe it's the ipod. Mine does the same on the d3 and occasionally needs a reboot.

The reboot I believe is pressing and holding the menu button along with the center button for like 10 seconds. if menu doesn't work, try play.

this will reboot the ipod and usually it will solve the lockups.

Thank you very much,

do you possibly have any idea why you cant play videos on the D3 anymore? is it some type of software issue with apple? It worked previously to the last update I had.

I had the same problem. After trying other ipods that worked perfectly, mine is messed up. It use to freeze and I changed the cord. Problem solved. But then I now get a hissing noise, and it is definately the ipod. The other ipods don't do this.

My ipod freezes every few months and i've noticed that normally when it freezes it's because the ipod itself needs a software update. Just hook it up to iTunes and let it do the rest...mine pretty much stays in my car so I only update it when it freezes.

As far as the video, make sure in your video settings you have it to 1. TV mode 2. NTCS mode 3. Widescreen...if you have an Ipod classic (i.e. the new ipods that they call classic, which is just dumb) then you have to actually start the movie 1st and then plug it into the cable.

Hope this helps,

Leor

It freezes I cant press play on the screen, my ipod gets stuck on the pioneer screen.

I restarted the Ipod and updated it, worked fine, mine stays in the car as well. I will check the settings for the video issue.

Thanks for the help.
