Question 2003 Nissan 350z with navigation

I recently bought a 2003 350 with the stock navigation. The disc it had in it was from 2002! I know they have to make updated discs... a lot can happen in 6 years. Please let me know where I can find the most recent version. Thank you for your help...

Well boys you are in luck! I had someone burn me the newest edition (I believe) back in march. Ill have to look when I get home which edition it is though as I rode the bike in today. He did it for me for $40 bucks and Ill do the same for you. My ebay name is jontimsutter to show you my rep because as you can see I have very little credit here (new). Anywho let me burn the disks first to make sure they work out alright then ill give you my paypal if your interested...

Shouldn’t this offer to sell something be listed in the Classified section.

I see a disturbing profile here… one that is repeated about every 4 to 6 months: A member (who is new to my350z.com and has few postings) offers to sell illegally-copied GPS software for Nissan’s OEM device that they guarantee is the latest version and testify that it will work. A few members bite and send $$, and then someone reports that it doesn’t work, and the new member selling the “product” disappears (but keeps a healthy profit for the effort).

Hopefully we are not seeing another repeat performance.

*update* so after searching for a damn program that could burn .DAT files for over 4 houirs last night!...I finally got one that has copied the DVD+R DL portion of the NAV disk. However I haven't got the CD R portion done yet ( the disk you put in prior to the auctual NAV disk that stays there). Ughh who would of thought it would be such a PITA! Anyhow after work today I will burn the CD R portion and do a quick test to make sure it is working properly. I should be able to let you guys know tommorow when I get to work.

Spike,

I had previously read your post about this potential scam and understand why you may be on edge. This is why I included my ebay username so that everyone (if they wished) could cross reference my information. I understand that I am a new user to this site but rest assured that I would NEVER cheat anyone out of their hard earned cash. After I verify that the discs I am burning work properly I will post in the classifieds to further alleviate any concern. Thank you though for looking out for POS's that are scamming our members.

*update* So who would have thought that burning two damn discs would be such a PITA! Its no wonder why the others that used to do this stopped. I already have invested more time that it is worth trying to figure this out. Oh well I said I would so I'm trying to make it happen. That being said I have succesfully burnt the two discs with the exact files that are on my ver. 6.6 (verifed with my PC). However I have been unable to get the burnt disc to upload in my NAV. Perhaps it is just "learned" the original and needs to be reset or something...I searched over 5 pages this morning and cannot find any good information. So when I get out of work I will play around with it alittle more and hopefully can get some answers for you all. If I can't get them to work tonight look for a monday update. Thanks for being patient.

Cliffs: Disc's are burnt succesfully.
Problems loading initially (didn't try long)
Trying again tonight after work

^^ It’s probably because some of the most recent copy-protection libraries defeat the current DVD duplication software applications. I’m using some of the new CP software libraries, and they are effective blocking current DVD replication applications.

It’s really a continual project/battle… new CP methods against DVD duplication applications. For now, the new CP methods are winning, but the replications programs are working to defeat the new CP algorithms. Of course, next week… all may be completely different.

Try burning with Alcohol 120: http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/

I used this to make a copy of my BMW NAV disc for my mom to use. Also burn at the slowest speed.

Hope it works.

The wierd thing though Spike, is that I am making a copy of a copy so I would think that any protection that was on the original would have been "off". But it seems you know ALOT more about this crap than I do! lol

NO worries. I am gonna give it a try on my end here. If I am successful maybe I can get someone local to get a recent copy of the disc and see if it works. If i was able to do it for the NAVTEQ DVD for BMW I should be able to do it for Nissan.
