Speaker Upgrade and Basslink Questions
So, I've done my digging and it seems like the Infinity Reference 62.5s are a good cheap upgrade. I am planning on putting them in both front and rear.
I am also interested in installing a Basslink in the stock Bose location.
My question on the basslink is...how will this be wired along with those rear speakers? I know basslink has speaker-level inputs, but how do I "share" the speaker outs with the rears? Wire them in parallel?
I'm not looking to install an amp - this is a simple and cheap stopgap fix for the stereo with an eye toward a more extensive upgrade at some point in the future.

According to Crutchfield, the only speakers that'll fit in front are a smaller 5 1/4 inch Kenwood Excelon, where you have to use an adaptor braket to fit the smaller speaker in there. How are you going to get yours to fit?

Well,
There have been numerous posts of success by using the original clarion speakers as mounting spacers for the new ones. You cut the cone out.
So the 6 1/2s are not my concern - I need to know how I will wire in the basslink with the rears.
I am considering disabling the rears entirely and wiring the basslink *only* to the rear speaker leads. That would give me a nice way to fade between the fronts and sub...
I barely hear the rear speakers as it is, anyway.
Thoughts and opinions on this (cheap and quick) upgrade welcomed.
I do plan on a more substantial upgrade later that will include an amp and possibly a different head unit. The goal of this first phase is just to swap those crappy speakers out. Second phase will be the basslink.

so, for people with BOSE crap, whats the best way to wire the basslink?
do we just tap into wires before the bose amp in the trunk? or... (sorry i'm kind of new to car audio here)
as for power and ground, where is the best route to the battery and where is the best place to ground back there?
thanks guys

i just do not want to buy anything other than the basslink.. so no amp, no distributor, no audiolink pd4... etc.
so, question is, can i just reroute the speaker line wires that come into the bose amp for the woofer and put that into the basslink?
