Default Front speakers without pods? What fits?

I'm currently installing a new system and still up in the air on front speakers. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what fits in the doors without any kind of major mod. What are my options and what fits?

If you have installed speakers in the front, post what you put in that fit.

Default Front Speakers

Focal 165 VRS w/ Zenclosure spacer.

With a .75 spacer ring you can typically fit a speaker that is 2.50" inches deep or less.

Buy the spacer rings from Zenclosures.com they are like $20.00 and very well made.

I do know that Focal K2P's won't fit without permanent modifications to the door. They are just too deep. 2.80" or something like that.

For a safe bet go sub 2.50" unless you have a lot of patience for trial and error.

Also most people will suggest you get pods (Nazar) or Kicks (16psibrick/Bing) to get the most out of your speakers.

You can find a few options here:

Roper215, teh215, do you mind if I add your information to the list?
