Default Dynamat Options/Alternatives???

Hi,

I've seen some posts in here where people used some other brand of dynamat-like sheets. Can someone please tell me what other, more economical, options there are for sound insulation? And where to get them on the web?

Also, I am planning on using some of those rubber speaker baffles from Crutchfield, in my doors. Does anyone have any experience with them??

Lastly, is there a better Dynamat, if I end up getting that brand? They have an original and a newer version I think.

Just trying to tune up my vehicle as inexpensively as possible.

Thanks. Andy

McMaster-Carr mastic is comparable to regular dynomat, and so much cheaper.

Extreme dynomat might be better, however http://www.b-quiet.com/ I hear is the same quality at about 40% the price.

Thanks. I saw another one in a search that used Fatmat.com's product.

Gonna check them all tonight.

G'luck, here is McMaster-Carr website.
I recently helped my friend sound deaden his tundra w/ the stuff. It cost about 120$ for the whole truck and sounds quiter than my mothers lexus.

Default roofing supplies

Check out a roofing material called " Ice shield " its a rubber/adhesive sheet of stuff that has a thin metal backing on it - looks exactly like a thinner dynamat - much much cheaper and seems like it would work just as well.

Its used right under shingles on the roof of houses - not sure for what, as im not a roofer, but i read about it and actually checked it out once while in a warehouse. Looks like it would work.
