Default Static noise help!

Hey, i have a Clarion Max675VD double din dvd player with the ipod video cable for it hooked up. My issue is that there is a large amount of static that comes from the speakers only when i'm listening from my ipod (static noise increases as i increase volume on my deck). When i play cd's or the radio, there is no static whatsoever at any volume setting.

I checked the ipod cable itself and there is no damage to it and it isn't run near any power wires that i have for the sub and speaker's amps. Anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this static as well as how to fix it if possible? the cable itself is ~$70 and only available online so it'll be difficult to return if it doesn't solve the problem.

Thank you.

Is the volume all the way up on the ipod? If so I know that cause a lot of static in playing them through something other than headphones. Trying turning the ipod down a little even if it isn't maxed.

thx, i will try that. i never thought about that because the volume setting on the ipod doesn't affect the loudness when played in my car
