Question Aux Cable on the Z

Yes i did look at the top 100 common questions before posting this. i still couldnt find the answer to my question. Is there a aux input on the 2004 z bose package?!?!?! I just recently took my z to a audio place and they said they were gonna charge me 100$ even if there was no aux input in the back. shouldnt these kind of places know these things????

(keep in mind im using one of those shitty fm transmitters...so i need this cable asap if its even possible)

thanks

I asked the dealership the same question on my '08 enthus and they responded that they could install one, but it would cost $600. No thanks. When I was looking through the audio/video portion of this forum, I ran into a link that showed some adapter that allows you to install an aux port into the stock stereo (non-Bose). The adapter costs <$100, but according to the dealership, installing the thing on a Z is a pain in the ***. You're better off going aftermarket like Chaser mentioned. That's what I'm looking to do too!

I think that adaptor you are talking about plugs in where the Satellite connection is in the back. I've heard about the adaptor you are talking about...but I don't know if anyone had actually done it. Try a search on "XM AUX adaptor"

here is what i found:

USASpec has one -- I've had it on my 2005 Z since 2005.

No pain to install -- unless you call removing the center console (required regardless of what you do) painful.

+1 Dash uninstall is pretty easy. I believe they sell the cords at best buy too.

Have used a USA Spec interface for at least two years with Bose HU and it works great with both Sirius and Ipod.

USA Spec or PAC. Do it yourself, it's easy. If you can use a screw driver and plug things in you're able

Yea do it yourself. Its very very simple. There are illustrated photo instructions online on DIY. I have no technical knowledge about cars but i was able to install it and get it up and running within 20-30 mins.
