Basslink Install Photos
I installed it tonight in the factory sub location. However I didn't do it perpendicular to the car like the other guy did - I was worried that it wouldn't be solid "hanging" there like that. I drive pretty hard.
Also, Infinity shorted me on screws - I only got two - which led me to install it this way:
I used the brackets in the front and it is drilled and screwed hanging from the top.
The bottom rear part is resting on the rubber pad. It doesn't move around and doesn't rattle on the road (I just took a test drive to make sure.)
I haven't wired it to the deck yet - all I have to do is tap the speaker leads and I am good to go.
Here's a closer shot:

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I would still be worried about having only two screws holding it myself. As you are going around a corner... whack... as the screws snap off and the sub slams into the side of the cabinet.
BTW. Nice "pimpy?" computer setup. I poked around the rest of your gallery.

I suppose you're right, but there are a couple of points to make:
1. There isn't much room back there - it is unlikely that it would get damaged much (if it all) other than scratches by this. It already got scratched to hell putting in in, so I don't care much
2. Gravity is holding the rear in place, so there is less pressure on those screws than there would be if it were hanging by all four.
Anyway, we'll see how it holds.
I may try and do a better screw job (huhuh) later, especially if I start to notice any rattles. Now that the hard part is done, I can get in there and do that type of minor work pretty easily without disassembling half the car.
I would really feel better having it bottom-mounted on all four feet, but the gas tank thing really does concern me. I'm a klutz and already managed to damage the vehicle by slightly denting the lowest trim piece (plastic) with my knee during the work.

Those two stupid tab things!! Argh, they were a pain. In fact they were part of the reason I didn't hang the thing horizontally. They seemed to get in the way no matter what I did.
The back of the basslink is kind of jammed underneath them. I think.
I'm starting to question the longevity of my install - I may go back and rework this with 4 screws, or perhaps get brave and screw it to the floor.
Can I get some confirmation on the sub area floor - is it safe for drilling, or not?

For those of oyu with basslinks, how did you wire the input? Basslink seems to be 4 channel. I wired the input to the Bose amp to the left rear input of the basslink. I couldn't find anywhere in the basslink brochure that described how to wire it up if you only have one input.
