Question NEW CD Player isn't sounding as good as my Factory!

Just got my Kenwood 512 Installed...and it doesn't sound as good as my factory stereo. Nor as loud. Any wonders why or what settings I should set?
Thanks,
Ryan

the part that you need is called a pac-oem1. there is a couple of extra parts that you will need in order to plug the am headunit in to the interface and the interface into the vehicles wiring harness. here is the website. call them up to double check that i've got the right part number.

I believe the guys who installed the system into my car used a conversion harness. So this unit could be used with my Nissan Z.

Im confused?

I bet you have the BOSE system. You cannot just hook up the radio using the coversion harness, you need the PAC adaptor also

Yes, new speakers will set the system off. The only kicker is that you need to add completely new wiring to bypass the stock Bose wiring and amp. It's a b1tch, but well worth the effort. Oh, +1 on buying a new amp too before doing that.

So I just got off the phone with installers and they said the reason it doesnt sound as loud is because the Kenwood player is only 1.5Volts where a pioneer is 4volts. and it cant hold up to the Amp in the Bose!? Is this true...?

They said I could redo and rewire my car and the total costs would be $856-Complete?

Im gonna guess when you turn it up all everything flattens. The highs, lows, and anything inbetween just dont stand out.

I had the same problem when I installed my Alpine iDX-0001. The bose hardware just doesnt work with any other receiver as well as it does with the stock. Your best bet is to reinstall your stock receiver or get a new amp and sub.

my 2 cents.
