Default questions about ohms?

im too lazy too read through pages of info i have a headache will someone remind me of the laws of resistance? if my amp is 2 ohm stable and i buy speakers that are 2 ohm stable do i just hook them up normally and they automatically go to the lowest possible resistance? thanks!

Depends on the speakers inputs.

Single 4-ohm? Wire directly
Single 2-ohm? Wire directly
Dual 4-ohm? = 2-ohm or 8 ohm.
Dual 2-ohm? = 1-ohm or 4 ohm.

ok thanks silverstone so im confused im thinking about using the whole reference line from infinity, the sub is dual 4, so thats fine but the components are rated at 2 ohm but are then described as "true 4 ohm" with 2 ohm voice coils? wtf? heres a link http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/p...=US&Region=USA
thanks

oh and another thing, im pretty sure a dvc sub has 2 sets of + and - and if the amp is 2 ohm stable with one set of + and - to wire that sub at 2 ohms am i going to connect the + from the amp to one of the voice coils + and the - from the amp to the other voice coils - and then connect the remaining + and - on the sub together with wire?

Try this:

Basically, you have to wire the two voice coils to each other either in series or parallel.

I really think that is series. But I am in the same boat of it being a long time.

series= they run in series, the + out of amp to + of voice coil 1, to - of VC1, to + of VC2, to - of VC2, to - of amp

if that made any sense. pretty much series runs 1 big loop where parallel are al equal connections
