I have this unit installed in my car and I'm wondering if that little light on the left side of the Attn. button should be blinking intermittantly even if the key is removed from the ignition. It is on mine and I'm a little concerned about anything draining the battery since I just change the oem to an Optima yellowtop.

It's the security light if I remember correctly. It only blinks for a couple of minutes.

 

If you go to the "Security setup menu", there is a button called "SI". This will turn that light on or off. I've got an 8120 and turned it off. The light is supposed to be a "don't steal me" light, but to me it's a "Hey, I'm an aftermarket stereo. Kindly rip me out of this car and set me free".

...'nother question, I don't have an ipod but I guess I do need to use the USB connector to do things like update firmware and maybe upload new background images. Where did u guys run the USB connector to? And what did u use to mount it? Thanks in advance.

 

I ran mine through the tunnel. All I have to do is pull the coin box (I guess that's what it is) out and the plug is there. It takes a little stuffing and fumbling to get it back in so that the box goes in, but it works OK.

 

I ran the USB connector into the cubby above the HU. That way I can keep a couple of UBS drive in there and plug one of them up and have the others avail. Less vibes and heat than running something over the transmission.

 

Hey guys I just ordered this HU last night. I have the Bose factory speakers and sub. What wireharness kit do I need to buy? Is it difficult putting on custom wallpapers? Is the install that bad?
