In car pc instead of bose
I have touring with the stock navi. I was wondering if i can take out my bose and put a touch screen connected to an in car pc. I know that this can be done but i was wondering if i can have a radio on the touch screen. Is there a program for a computer that i can have a portable radio with my touch screen. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Radio on the touchscreen?
Let me make sure i get what your saying. you going to take out the stock headunit and replace it with a LCD?
going to be hard and pricey.
you need an amp to boost the PC sound to the speakers.
you have to find a way to connect the stock NAV to the PC/speakers
For radio, you can get a XM radio for the PC or a regular USB radio adapter.

you mean this?....
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...101-220&DEPA=1
Not sure how it works....I think they are two separate things (the AM/FM and PC)...
If you are talking pc integration FM then there are tons of those...

Don't think the sound is great though.
Probably better to stick with the Bose.

I thought about going this route at one time but I end up putting the screen in my nav cubby since I didn't have stock nav. I might still go this route to add another screen. I'll have to see.
This was my original plan.
Rip out the Bose HU, in it's place, put in a LCD screen (10 inches?). Hook that up to a carpc. In one of the mail slot area, I would get a 1-din hu with RCA input. Hook the car pc's audio out to the RCA input on the HU.
From this point on, it's primarily how you want to configure your carpc. My main intending was only playing MP3 and Nav. But you have couple options for radio. Use the HU's radio or get a USB radio tuner for the PC. There are plenty of skins out there that can mimick the indash din for an computer audio player. (winamp for example).
Like Alphared said, if you gonna make this a clean install, it's gonna be costly (mostly labor cost if you get someone else to do it.) It's gonna require a lot of rewiring and possible bondo . But if you're brave and adventurous, give it a shot and post some pictures when you're done with it. Just give me credit for this idea
I still might go this route if I can find a cheap touchscreen that can fit the 2-din slot.
