Default sub woofers

Doing a bit of research on sub woofers.

Will there be a noticeable difference between 80 dollar subs vs 200 dollar and 300 dollar subs? I'm trying to figure out how much i should look to spend on one for a 07zr behind the seat in a box.

i've tried listening to some subs at best buy, but they all sound weak and like crap so it didn't help much, just from that it seemed like i might as well just spend 40 on a sub....

any suggestions as for sub choices

yes there will be a big difference. But for the money you can get some great subs look and search into
Image Dynamics and Fi audio they are supposed to be top notch and much cheaper then JL or similar subs.

Also make sure you get a box built if your talking about just putting it like the stock sub is then you will be sorely disappointed

The above posts are true...I once spents a week returning "cheap" subs to Circuit city because they kept blowing....Then I gave up and purchased 10" Alpine Type R subs - they are good subs.

depending on what you are looking for, check out Elemental Designs... very reasonably priced and great quality. I know there are a few other guys on the board who have used them in their own cars... and they have a great warranty and service in case anything goes wrong (it never has for me).
