Hi everybody!!
I have read all the posts about the USASpec PA11-NIS iPod gadget and I think the only thing I need to ask is:
Would it be smart to buy this set for $130+s&h or would it be wiser to buy the kit to put on the Z an aftermarket unit and such unit?
I do not need anything fancy. No DVD, no Navi, no nothing.
Just a nice sounding HU with hardwire connection to ipod that will allow me to control it with the radio and steering wheel buttons (and if it had bluetooth for the phone it would be the best).
What is the difference in price? Which one would be best bang for the buck? (Or however you americans say that
)
Thanks for the help in advance guys!

Besides, I also think that aftermarket radios look much worse than the stock one since they do not match at all (unless you get one of those $600+++ that have the two "slots" covered with a dvd screen or similar).
That is my dilemma...
The USA-Spec device doesn't deal with physical mounting -- it just lets you hook your iPod directly up to the nissan stereo, and control the iPod with the stereo's controls (next/previous song, etc), as well as the iPod's own controls.
As for physical placement, I just stuck my iPod in the back sleeve of the passenger seat, and control it with the Bose stereo's controls. There are fancier mounts out there, if you want to mount your iPod somewhere else.

i was reading about it - if i sirius - does the USA-Spec still work? bcuz from what i read.. its a one or another kinda of deal... and what's this about the bluetooth not working?
yea i think this replaces any satellite radio.
i was going to go this route and instead ordered a pioneer headunit with a USB connection and bluetooth. charges my iphone, plays the ipod, and has a fancy bluetooth.
it was about 340 installed and i can put it in my next car as well.
