Look guys. I'm not trying to sound like some kind of "alter-boy" or anything--hell, me being a 33 year old male who also owns a great CS 350Z, I too like to drive fast. Even though the chances of me receiving a speeding ticket may be very slim, I am not, by any means, immune from the same laws everyone else is. Just be careful out there. Us "cops" have a pretty unappreciative job. Let's face it, cuz nobody usually wants anything to do with the police until they actually really need us for something. Bottom line----------live by the rules and die by the rules.

Well, I only have gotten one ticket in my life for running a yellow/red light (yellow if you ask me, red if you ask the officer ). I'm from jersey too. What worked out best for me was going and asking to speak to the prosecutor. I pleade guilty, and paid a slightly larger fine than I was supposed to, but no points.
One big thing to remember that people often overlook; WEAR A SUIT. The people there want to know that you respect them. The judge actually knocked 50 bucks off of my 150 dollar ticket because I was "dressed for the court". Now, I'm sure this is rare, but the point still stands that you MUST look like an upstanding citizen.
You're lucky as hell. If you can't lose the points, just go to a defensive driving course. The one I took lowered my insurance because I had no points, but could have eliminated 2 points off of my license. If you get stuck with the points, try to get to the course before your policy expires, so that when you renew you can honestly say you have no points.
BTW, good info Duke. It's good to hear the honest truth from an officer. I really admire cops for the work they do. BTW, can you please officially eliminate this myth my gf keeps telling me about that cops can't tell how fast you're going if you're on a bend? This just sounds ridiculous to me, and she won't believe me when I tell her they can.

when you sent the ticket in...did you request a deposition?
Always plead Not Guilty and request a "Supporting Depostion"
If the reporting officer does not send you a Depostition...that is grounds for dismisal of your case.
They'll probably reduce it to a broken speedometer or seatbelt ticket...oh and BTW what you saw on your ticket is exactly what everyone else sees....judge, clerk, prosecuter....the copies that they recieve are EXACT CARBON Copies of YOUR TICKET. If the PO is diligent, he may have recorded in his Personal Notes that the initial infraction was reduced at the scene.

V1 doesnt know what the cops in YOUR state use to detect speed. you have to be alert to recognize when there is an actual threat.
****..i gotta cut this short. gotta run.

I have written this reply before, but here goes again. I have done this 3 times and it has worked EVERY time. After you receive the speeding ticket all you have to do is send in the fine amount and court costs PLUS $5. The court system will then deposit the amount that they are entitled to and mail you a check back for $5. After you get the check THROW IT AWAY. See, the court system can't close your file until you deposit or cash the $5 check. If you throw the check in the garbage the file will never be closed and you won't assessed any points on your license OR insurance. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark,
Does that really work? Has it only worked on SC or have you tried it in other sates?
P.S. how do you set your options in the forum so that you have you car specs trailing your post?

A warrant for what? The fine was paid obviously, because the refund was sent back. So what would they arrest you for, not cashing a check for money that belongs to you?
please...
please...

ok since ur givin advice
heres my dilemma
how do i know when they are adding points to my license?
i went to court and the judge told me "blah blah blah this is goin on ur record, i feel sorry for whoever pays ur insurance"
does that mean im gettin points?
i jus recently got a ticket for 40 in a 30... it REALLY pissed me off since i was following traffic and everything...
the cop was in the bushs with a radar gun
anyway, what can i do to fight this?
its my first ticket in this county, but not in state, does that matter?
if i jus pay the ticket, will it go on my record and how many points?
jus confused about this stuff
thanks alot
