Hi,

I have had my Z for about a year now and I'd like to upgrade my sound system. I had a few questions though because I have never upgraded a sound system before.

If I was to get the Zenclosure 2-12" box, Would I need to do anything other than drop the subs in, Wire them with the amp and go? Also, is this the only box that will fit 2-12's in the car?

Typically you would need an after market head unit with line level outputs feeding an outboard amp that would power the subs in order to get decent performance out of two 12's.

Check wickedcas.com for a dual 12 box, they may have one for the Z.

 

Wait, do you have the Bose or Base system? Bose requires an adjustable line level converter (or RCA conversion from the low level speaker outs from the deck) whereas the Clarion base stereo just needs a standard line level converter. I agree with lbz though...an aftermarket deck will always yield better sound quality and better control over your sub sound.
