Default HELP!! w/ Pioneer P4000DVD

So after two days of the shop installing the unit, I Bring it home to try out the Ipod....It's not working.....instead of an Ipod cable they hooked up a USB cable and the shop told me that it would do the same thing as the ipod cable. Every time i hook up my Ipod to the USB port the USB icon lights up but when I click it(USB Icon), it reads N/A USB. So if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

I have no idea why it says N/A USB but I would def. take it back to the shop and tell them to install the IPOD cable! If they screwed up, it's their fault and they should install it corretly for free

Thats what I told them but they said they couldn't fix it today and the "head installer" is not in right now so I figured someone on the boards could help me out. Also, i clearly told them to install to Ipod jack in the cubby hole but i got 0 for 2 on that. they installed the USB cord next to the E-brake.

Sounds like you should be patient enough to get them to fix it right. Then you take your business elsewhere in the future.

Yeah that sounds like the best thing to do.

They're dumb... you need the iPod cable.

USB is for a regular storage device like a flash drive or a hard drive.

iPods, like the Zune, are different kinds of players.

I used to have the exact same HU and the shop installed a dual cable that had USB and iPod inputs side by side and the HU recognized both. Ask about that instead of that thing they gave you.

I believe they're quite pricey at retail stores... i'd check online if you have time.
