Default setup recommendation w/o sub

I have an 04 Roadster and am on the edge on if I want to use a sub or not. What would be a good setup for the cabin of the car between component speakers and an amp if I choose to not use a sub in the trunk? I still want to have high, mid, and low but I don't know enough about car audio to know what would be a good setup.

If your not going to use a sub then i would run an 8'' midbass. If you have an auto then it wouldnt be that bad. Install the 8's in the kickpanels, mids and tweets up on the dash or somewhere else. That will get you pretty good and deep bass without the sub. I wouldnt be able to live without a sub on 6.5's though.

Honestly.. after I got my UP6's in I thought I could probably be happy without a sub... get a quality set of components and give them plenty of power -- you might be surprised.

X2

If you truly want lows, you will ned a sub to play that 80 hertz and down range...otherwise with just really good components or even a nice 8" midbass, you will be missing a lot of the recorded subwoofer bass that your music will have. Not having a sub is a sacrifice. If you are willing to make that sacrifice and do away with your deeper bass (sub) then be prepared to be let down.

I thought the same after listening to my Elates without the sub being powered. I was like "Damn, I can live with this!"

lol I thought the same when I heard Focal 165 K2Ps in this guy's car without his 2 12"s on... he crossed the K2Ps to 63 and they were booming!!! but then when he turned the bass on I was like

I'm first getting K2Ps and will wire the sub cable to the trunk for 1 10" which I'll get a month or so after I install the comps
