Ground Loop, what is it?
When I install my amp, ill have a ground for that right near the amp, and my HU is grounded pretty much right under it. Will this cause a ground loop? In the amplifier kit I bought, (Tsunami), it came with 8 ga ground, and a 14 or 16ga long ground wire. Is the smaller wire supposed to run from the HU ground to the amp?

- Ground the deck to a good bare metal spot behind the upper console area (short as possible)
- Ground the amp to a good spot in the back - make it high as possible so moisture doesn't collect and try to use a nut and bolt to attach instead of a screw
- Run RCA's opposite of the Power wires (down different sides of the car)
- Use shielded and twisted RCA's.
- Upgrade grounds at the battery
This should eliminate any ground issues.
I have the blue power already ran to the HU...the 16ga wire came with the 8ga ground in the same little package, inside the amp kit. What do you mean by upgrade grounds at the battery?
16 ga...two wire? Maybe its for speakers.
The big three ground upgrade consists of:
- 4 ga battery to chassis
- 4 ga chassis to motor
- 4 ga alternator to fuse box or battery
Optional upgrade would be fuse box to battery, battery to engine and another engine to chassis. 1/0 can also be used if you are as hardcore as me.
