Default '03 OEM Stereo CDs skip when cold

Was wondering if this was an issue with most 2003 OEM stereos or if there was something wrong with just mine. I noticed that early morning when it's cold (~30°), my CDs tend to skip for the first 20 minutes. After things warm up, they play just fine.

Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

I have a 2003 350z Touring with 6 disc boss system. I'm having the same problems with skipping cd's in cold weather. I bought a cd cleaner hoping it was just a dirty lens, but saddly the skipping still happens when its cold.

Exactly what's happening to me! The sub is going out all of a sudden...

Is there a "How-To" in order to fix that problem? Because I really like the Bose system...

Search and you see that many ditched their stock HU for aftermarket. I did that an noticed a night and day difference in sound quality. Well, I am bias since I love the clean crisp sound of aftermarket HU.

Here's my complete setup. Not as hardcore as most here, but I only drive my car probably twice a week (but love every second of it when I do drive it). If you are asking why only twice? It's because I work from home and don't really want to drive for coffee run.

Started with:

Alpine CDA 9827 (not even the middle of the pack, but for $70)

Then after that I ended with:

Custom build dual under strutbar box
2 10" Cerwin Vega Strokers
Memphis St-1000d
Autotek SS 75.4 (running my stock mids and highs)
SPL CP2.0 2 Farad Capacitor

Oh, can't forget the cheap Scoshe Wiring Kit.

I found that turning my car on in the mornings and letting things warm up is the best solution to the CDs skipping in the morning. Also, take the CD out that you want to listen to and hold it in front of one of the vents for a few seconds.

This is something they should have fixed from the get go. Seriously, Bose is crap if you ask me.
