Default HSK165 power question

So I'm planning on putting Hertz HSK165s in the front of my 350z powered by a JL 300/2v2. How much power do the tweeters take? That amp would be fine right? Puts out 150w rms x 2. HSK takes 120w rms even though I've read some people use up to 300w rms.

for some reason I always figured tweets took barely anything. So a JL 300/2v2 wouldn't even be enough?

That will be fine for that speaker set. The HSK set with crossover is a fairly efficient set so that JL power will be enough.

That said, you can always have more! If you ran a four channel amp and did a full active set-up, you would notice an increase in sound quality, volume, ability for adjustment and overall a fuller sound. Crossovers are heat bastards so reducing that will reduce distortion and lack of efficiency quite nicely.

x2

tweet is 120rms driver is 100 rms

if you get a 400/4 and go active that would be perfect

or better yet, get the hsk-163 3 ways

wish I had the money, anybody have the link for the thread that described active vs passive. Never able to understand the difference. Also isn't the driver 125w rms?

nope, i have the hertz book infront of me that lists all of the parameters for each speaker in the high energy line

the driver for the hsk-165 is the HV-165 which is 100w rms 200w peak, FR of 50-5,5k hz

active and passive is the crossover you use. passive is the little box that comes with components and is limited in how much tuning you can do. active is a stand alone unit that lets you set each crossover point independently

says that right next to it in the continuous column, 120w@2.5khz-12db oct.

so center the tweet at 2.5khz with a 12db slope at 120w
