MB Quart Tweeters too loud... Help!
I have MB Quart reference series components installed in the stock locations of an 04 350Z..
The tweeter attenuation is all the way down to -6db which is as low as it will go.
Even with the crossover tuned like this the tweets are still so bright they hurt your ears.
What would yall recommend to make these sound better?
Thanks!

Tuning them with the head unit makes it sound really bad..
The two options I am seeing is either make an L-Pad or relocate the tweeters. I really don't want to have to relocate them to the kicks, but have a feeling that is what its going to result to.

Throw them into the kickpanels and turn them back up. Maybe, relocate your crossovers there too so you don't have to deal with another set of wires?
I 3m taped my tweats to the stock location for testing purposes and I dunno how some of you guys deal with that. It was like someone was gradually poking my ear drum with a cue-tip that was balding. Eventually I'd lose my hearing.

I have MB Quart components as well. My tweeters are fine, but unadjusted they were bright as hell (like Greg told me they would be).
I changed the EQ freq the best that I could and I pointed the tweeters downwards a bit, while still being aimed at the opposite passenger. Sounds great now. I wanted clarity, and that's what I got.

I share your experience. When I mounted quality tweeters in the stock sail-panel position, the sound was too harsh, and I was unable to balance the highs for both the driver and passenger seat.
I also tried using the H/U to adjust this, but as you point out this simply muddles the sound and defeats installing better tweeters.
My solution was installing the tweeters in the A-Pillar, and that provides a very good solution that balances the sound for both the driver and passenger.
Actually, what I did was set the tweeter to bounce off the windscreen. This way the very directional sound ends up near the car’s center instead of blasting into the driver’s left and passenger’s right ear.
The idea came to me when attending an outdoor concert when I noticed how well the highs were directed because of the band shell surrounding the orchestra.

I just moved them to the kick panels today and that made all the difference in the world. It is a night and day difference in sound quality.
Thanks for all the advise everyone
