Valentine 1 Radar giving off False Laser CONTINUOUSLY
I got a slight problem, I have an older Valentine 1 Radar, it's like a 1.7 or something. But it was working fine before I tried to hardwire it. I'm a noob at this as well, but I tried to used the Valentine hardwire kit, and mount the wire-harness connector* (or something called t-tap i think?) around the yellow wire behind my cigarette light. I figured yellow was hot, and black was ground.
Anyways, after doing that, my laser goes off continuously while I'm driving. When I approach to stop, the laser stops.. but when I speed pass like 5mph it goes off the entire time.
And on the side note, this is on my 1999 Honda Civic.. it has like no power nothing (No power windows, mirrors, a/c, Cruise Control or watever) So I don't see how other electronmagetic signals can effect it like this.

And I have tried to check Valentine website for answers, it says the possible causes are: Laser cruise control; in-dash navigation screen;rain-sensing wipers; Neon; and Certain Brake Likes (mainly domestic cars)
But I don't have any of that stuff...Any Ideas?
I'm guessing.. it's prob the crappy hardwire job I did since it was working fine before. Just don't understand what I may have did wrong.

Well, I mean it goes off ALL the time with the only exception of basically at a full stop. But I've decided just to off the laser by reprogramming it. I heard it's not that useful anyways, since if you get shot by the laser, your pretty much screwed. But I would still like to know what's making it goin crazy

T-taps aren't the best way to wire anything. It's not a real good connection , not compared to a soldered one. You may have power issues on that connection.
You could try hooking a up a voltmeter to the power that you are supplying to the V1 and see what it reads as you are stopping. If the voltage is dropping and the V1 is going off, that might be the problem (low voltage supply).

I have never had this problem with a V1 but my ZR4 used to alert when I would adjust my mirrors on the Scion tC.
With my ZR4, it turned out to be "noise" on the power line. I installed a coil "choke" and found a better ground. It works great now.
This may or may not have anything to do with your problem.
