JL Audio Amp/Sub Tunning help!!
Hey I have had my 10in w6 jl audio sub with a 500.1v2 jl audio amp connected in an under strut bar zenclosure. I need help with tuning the amp to the proper setting. I know there is several people on here with the exact same set up and would like to know what your amp settings are at.
I have a pioneer AVIC d3 headunit with stock bose speakers. The sub sounds decent right now but i know the quality of it can be alot better. Please let me know what your settings are all at for your amp. Thanks in advance. I have searched here and I have used the JL audio site but it hasn't really helped me at all.

you have a sub and stock speakers and you're asking for help tuning it? WTH
here is what you do.. find a CD of music you like very much and has the style of the music you like..
turn the sub down.. then turn the radio to the desired normal listening volume.. then turn the sub up until you get a nice balance..
everyone here has different sub boxes, different stuff in their trunk.. listening to different music..
just because you have the same sub and amp as someone doesn't mean putting the amp on setting 4 for X guy is going to work for you.
and i'm not sure how you're talking about quality when you're still running a bose setup in the car.. the car is going to sound sh!tty no matter what

^ Having an aftermarket head unit with the BOSE setup made it sound 10x better than stock. I eventually ended getting components and a sub though.
To the OP I'm on the same boat, I just have to find some time to get back were the amps are and do some tuning as doug suggested.

Im not talking about the overall quality of the sounds system. I am wanting to see what people are tuning their amps to for their subs. I know tons of people have the same set up as i do on here. Its a very common set up. I asked because I am trying to get tight sounding bass with little sounds of distortion. the Bose speakers and fine for me. i dont listen to music overly loud so it doesn't get crazy. i just want clean sounding bass that i know the set up can produce. i just dont feel im optimizing the potential of my sub/amp set up..
And to Doug get a life and learn how to respect people. if your going to come in here and act like a child with your stupid comments then please grow up and get out. I have already tuned it to what i feel is decent but i know the subs can sound better. i am no audio extraordinaire so i dont know which each setting is suppose to do so turn a **** setting one way and turning another one way will produce different sounds. i want to know what people have so i can get a feel of the settings i should be around.

here is another idea.. if you want your subs to sound better you should have bought a better sub
Thanks. Also I can handle criticism, thanks for your advices. Ill take those into consideration. Continue to be a kid on the internet you will get real far with that. So back to the topic anyone that has anything useful let me know thanks.
stand alone sound processor
also, to OP... respect those who are obviously more experienced with this car and their opinions on things if you come into a forum asking questions. many kids come on here thinking they will have an award winning sq car just by changing out their bose H/U and putting a JL sub in a prefab box... **** gets annoying after a while
though it was given in a sarcastic manner he gave you good advise either way

ive been on this forum for a long time so thanks for you advice. i dont post because of jerk offs like the other guy. I am not out to obtain the best sq set up possible. i was simply stating that the potential of my subs have not been reached because i didn't think they were tuned properly. all i wanted to know was what other people had on their settings so i could go back and test around their settings. simples as that, but its cool ill just take it to a good audio shop and let them take a look at it.
