Default A question..

I apologize if this a question that has been asked 6,000 times before, but I really didn't have much luck with searching. Is there a way to connect my iPod to my non-Bose head unit? Is it worth it at all? Or should I just get a new head unit with a USB connector or something? I'm also looking at some speakers, but I'm terribly inexperienced in the audio field. What are some decent inexpensive speakers/head unit? What would I need to complete the job and hook everything up? I'm not looking for any ridiculous amounts of bass, I just want nice 4 speakers. Again I apologize if I'm asking questions that have been asked before and I would really appreciate the help.

To get better sound you must have a better head unit since you're only limited to the factory settings which blow.
