Default Trying not to break it

I am removing the door panels and running some wires into the door.
Right now I am dealing with the drivers side and following a DIY or
rather a thread someone posted of their efforts to do the same.

That OP posted this picture:

I moved the level down and the harness loosened to where it feels like
it wants to disengage from the body but isn't. I have moved it and tried
as much as I can without using a tool. I stopped at this point to verify with
the forum that if I use a nylon tool shaped like a flat head screw driver to
pry it off, that nothing will break or snap. Should I be going horizontally
away from the body or away and down?

Is this bolted from the inside??

Thanks for bringing back nightmares!

You can take that lever off at this point, and then you pull the rubber grommet back. After that you should be able to just pull the two halves apart. Make sure you are pulling straight away from the other half, not at an angle, as you don't want to bend any pins.

The molex is not bolted on the inside. It is held to the hole/body by two little tabs on top and bottom of the female side (the part thats inside the car at this point). When you pull the male side out, you will see what I am talking about.

I'm glad I checked here first.

It should have occurred to me but I didn't think of the possibility of
any bent pins.

I'll try as you suggested. I didn't realize that lever came off....

Dude, be extremely careful with this operation. A bent pin will spell major headache for you and your Z. If there is anyone in your area from the forum that has done this, and could come and help you out, I would highly recommend it.

Anyways, since you already seem to be knee deep up in this, lets proceed Yeah, the lever comes off fairly easily. After that you can pull the two sides apart. But to make it easier, you can also pop the little gray tabs holding the molex in place, and bring both sides to the outside of the car, and then separate them.

Got it, once I knew nothing would snap I applied the required force. I checked the pins, nothing bent---

On the same topic but not---the DEI 530T that I am wiring has 3 wires that need to be
connected to ground. Motor path 1 & 2 and common. Is there a reason these can't or shouldn't be combined into a single ground location?

I can't find any help on the net about the Viper 5901 being installed into a 350Z
and DEI is no help. I didn't know it but apparently the 5901 is a "protected product"
so they won't even talk to anyone who isn't a dealer.

I have everything I need but lack directions or a guide...anyone here familiar with
this system going into a Z?

I have the 5901, XK02, XK07 and 530T but I was advised on another forum not
to use the 530T. Something about the little window drop function causing the 530T to send the window all the way down. Can anyone confirm this? If it is, whats the work around or solution? That person suggested a longer pulse to the door lock but would this allow the alarm to operate the window via remote?

Panned out ok, lost some skin on my fingers but it will heal.

"Adventure" is certainly the right word...just add "torturous" in front.

I can confirm that if the window drops a bit the 530T will "one touch" it all the way down.
