I am looking at doing a down firing shallow sub in my new car and would like some recommendations on a shallow 10/12 inch.

I have been looking at the Memphis SC10/12 subs at the moment.

 

How shallow? Rockford and Pioneer also make nice shallow drivers.

For the ultimate in shallow, and if you don't mid going with an amazing 8" driver (or maybe 2?), Aura makes this:

3 inches of mounting depth is about what I would like to use. I am not opposed to using 2 8's. I was only going to use 1 10 or 1 12 anyways.

I need to find a shop or someone local that has those 8's to see how they sound.
