Default Aftermarket Headunit?

First of all, im a noob at audio/head unit and I am currently looking around and searching for a good replacement to the stock bose headunit. Will any sized headunit fit and replace the stock headunit? Are they all the same size? I am asking because some are 4.5 inch while others are 7 inches big, wondering if they will all fit or if I need to fabricate or fix it to fit.

I have one last noob question to ask. I already have a portable navigation system, its called nesa, like a tom tom. I was wondering if i should go with the navigation receiver or a dvd receiver. The dvd receiver is obviously cheaper, has all the options of a navigation, but no gps. Should I put in a little more money and get the navigation with contains both cd and dvd? Or save the money and use my current gps and get a dvd receiver?

The question about the dvd receiver, its truly up to you. Do you use the GPS often? I spent a little more and went with a hu with gps, and I have no complaints so far..

my dvd/gps head unit is so clean. I cant stand all that stuck cluttered every where.

I have a Pioneer Z3. I happy but there are also a lot of complaints. They just came out with a new one that is BAD ***! i think it runs about $1700. Worth it if you could be sure it wouldnt be a victim of vandilazion

you will have to decide if you want a double din or just a regular, the double is what most people get for their z because it gives it the stock clean look, and if you just do the regular din you will have an extra compartment.
