audio advice trouble
ok so im new to the whole forum thing and there has probably been a thousand posts on this particular subject so im sorry about that. i gotta 03 BASE 350. im now startin to do some audio mods on it. i heard that the base models don't have rear speakers, which turned out to be a partial lie. the speakers ARE there and the connector IS hooked up, but the speaker had some kind of cover over it and none of it is getting power. i was wondering if this is a common problem and how to solve it. also i was goin to put a sub in it. i've heard mixed stories about using the stock sub port. if i completely sealed the port off with liquid steel and dynomat, would it sound good? anyone with first had experience? i really appreciate it.
^^ The rear OEM Clarion speakers are so bad that many Base owners disconnected them to avoid polluting the sound. I realize you said they are connected, but I’d bet they are not. You need to remove the cover panels and check the H/U connections to verify this.
Personally I think the stock SubW position (behind the driver’s seat) is OK if you install the correct SubW speaker and do the installation properly, but not nearly as good as the under-strut/trunk position. A search will give you a lot of information about this.
