Default Upgrading the front speakers but use the factory tweeters

I got a question about changing out the front speakers. Im about to change the front speakers with a set of 2 way Boston Acoutics. Will the factory tweeters work with the upgraded speakers? I'm also upgrading the factory unit with a Pioneer AVH6000DVD. I would like to use the OEM tweeters with this set-up if its possible.

What are you hoping to achieve? Why would you pay money to upgrade the speakers then want to pollute the upgraded sound with some $2 factory tweeters? You are obviously not happy with the factory system to want to upgrade it, right?

Why would you want to use the OEM tweeter? Really doesn't take much work to drill the sail panels bigger to fit plenty of tweeters.

Yeah what they said..its a little counter product.. You should of bought components instead of those coax's. Even a cheap set of comp would blow them away

They will work - if you choose to use them - just keep them wired up.

speaking of tweater, i assume that you have the Bose system? It's better off to disconnect those tweeters all together. Those speakers are much better than the stock speakers + stock tweeters.

change factory front stage for a set of components

mid range
tweeter
crossovers
and amp them

that is the way to go

otherwise leave it stock

I don't have the Bose set up, and I already bought the Pioneer unit & speakers because the factory went out on me (CD player kept skipping). I didn't think about the tweeters in the pillars at the time and thought that they might still work if I just changed the speakers in the door panels. So the tweeters will work if I don't disconnect them??

ICE stated; "It's better off to disconnect those tweeters all together."

So yes, disconnect the factory tweeters.

I guess I'll do that.
I got my stereo and speakers from crutchfield, and they came with everything including the kit, stereo harness and only one pair of speaker harness. Since I'm changing out the fronts and rears, do I need another set of speaker harness if i want to plug them into the factory speaker connectors?

Return those rear speakers and pick up a set of tweeters.
