2004 OEM Nav?
#2
It’s certainly possible to do this. The OEM navigation screen uses RGB video. Since it’s likely your backup camera will use NTSC/PAL video, you will need a connector that converts composite video to VGA input to a RGB monitor.
I’ve seen the OEM navigation wiring diagram. It’s available online and you can find it with an internet search; I don’t have the address at my fingertips.
I think it’s possible to automate this so the backup image shows automatically when you go in reverse gear, but the wiring might be challenging. It is relatively easy to install an A/B switch to toggle between navigation and the image from a different video source (e.g., a rearview camera). You need the OEM wiring diagram to determine where you insert the composite video to VGA video connector (that converts NTSC video to RGB video).

You would most likely have to get a video converter to interface with your back up camera. Some of the converters have a dedicated reverse input - all you have to do is hook up one extra wire and it will automatically switch when you put the car in reverse.
