Bass keeps Dropping, noob needs help.
So after i got my Z the bass in the speaker kept dropping. I don't have the BOSE system btw.
When i got the car It had an aftermarket Alpine H/U, so i thought the HU was just too old. I replaced the H/U with a Pioneer avh-4000. It sounds Alot better, but the sound still tapers off from time to time. I've noticed it happens mostly when i'm making turns or accelerating aggressively.
I'm a noob at anything audio, but i'm thinking its the wiring or maybe theres an amp? I used a new wiring harness when installing the Pioneer. Is there an amp or something i should check. I don't have a sub so i'm not sure if there is one. If there is please tell me how to get to it.

Your problem is a relay in your amp that powers the sub....their is a quick fix for this problem and is pretty easy. Read through this thread the solution to your problem is within this thread. It will take about 15-30 minutes to fix your problems bud.

oh, im sorry i misread what you wrote. I'm not to sure then. Are you sure that there aren't any connections touching in the back of the headunit. Sometimes if you have two wires touching each other you will get a power surge and your bass will drop. You say it happens when your turning or aggressively driving so that could be an issue.
This might not be your problem but is the only thing i can think of. If you don't have the bose system you don't have amp so that's obviously not a problem. If you check everything and can't resolve the issue maybe you just have an defective headunit.

Could it be speaker connections? If so does anyone know how to get to the speaker?
It’s the cheap Clarion speakers and the lousy wiring (the Clarion connectors are really cheap) causing the problem you report. In fact people with the Bose “upgrade” report a similar problem.
The fix is replacing the Clarion speakers. You can use the same speaker wires runs that are now in your car since the aftermarket speakers you buy will have adequate connectors. The only wiring you may want to change is the tweeter run to the sail panel, and that’s only necessary if you reposition the tweeters to a better location (which is something you will certainly want to do).
