Just got a v1!! Mounting question
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and I just received my valentine 1 radar. Now my question is mounting the v1 behind those black dots by the rear view mirror, will it affect the v1's range? Will it affect the effectiveness of the v1? I wanted to mount it there or to the right of the RVM, but I rather have it behind those dots, so the visor would still be able to be used. I've seen the posts on here, where they wired the v1 to the back of the car, that's not really what I'm looking for. Any input and suggestions would be appreciated!

You can always try this - I found it doesn't obstruct the view terribly and looks sweet and stealthy AND works very well
first you'll need this:

Don't forget to measure your mirror stem!
And then icing on the cake:

I have both of these products (but for an Escort) and they are great quality and definitely worth every penny.

Hey guys, I need some help. Since I have a 06' base, I don't have the homelink rearview mirror, so I have to hardwire it to fuse box. Is this the power wire that I'm suppose to/or can t-tap it to?
If you're going to do that then you are looking for an ACC wire - supplies 12V when the car is on, otherwise your V1 will be running all the time, even when the car is off. I'm sure someone on here can tell you off the top of their head what wire that can be, but you can always use one of these guys:

You can find them just about anywhere you can buy electronic things, say radio shack or home depot or something. They're great to have laying around too for any future project
