Default Replacing the Bose system, what should I put in?

Hi guys,

Got a 350z roadster 2005 with Nav and Bose sound system. I am currently driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse 97 with Alpine Type R system, CDA 9835 HU, TypeR Components, Type R 6x9 and a 10 inches TypeR subwoofer. The speakers are not amplified.

I want a new system that sounds at least as good as my Eclipse's system. Should I buy new stuff, or should I keep my Component speakers, my rear speakers and my 10 inches sub? Can I put the sub into the sub box behind the driver's seat? Do you think it will be less expensive to remove the stuff from my eclipse, buy cheap speakers and install them, or I should buy new stuff?

For the HU, any idea? I want a double din HU and I don't want lots of buttons on it, I want to keep the clean look. Full touch screen would be great, like the Alpine Ixa 407 I think. CD player of Ipod reader I don't care, as long as I can play MP3 via CD or Ipod it's fine for me.

For the amp, should I get one? Or two? Can I buy a 3 or 4 channels amp, use two channels for the component speakers and connect the Subwoofer on the same amp?

Can I get a good sound system for like 1000 to 1500$ installed?

Thanks a lot guys!

My main point was really if it's better for me to keep my old Alpine speakers and subwoofer and put them in the 350z, and only buying a Head Unit + Amplifier. I don't need to get them best system ever, just something that sounds has good as I had in my Eclipse.

Is the installation price for a sound system in a 350Z is really that expensive? The complete system in my Eclipse cost me 1200$ with installation, that includes the HU, 2 component speakers, 2 6x9, a 10 inches sub with the box, dynamat, wiring and installation. I will go and see the same guy with my 350z I think

Well to answer a few of your questions:
-You will need a custom box to put your 10" sub into the 350z space
-You will need an amp for the components and the sub
-I highly doubt you could get a system done for less than $1000 but $1500 is a good budget to start with depending on how far you want to go...

Alpine makes really good stuff. The iXA-W407 and IVA-W505 head units are both pretty sweet and can do anything you'd want them to. Also I think you should keep your old stuff. It'll help you save money for other things you may want to do later to your Z. Really all you need is the front components because they will be the ones providing most of your best sound. I personally, don't use the back speakers at all. Just had them disconnected, and really couldn't tell you the difference. Plus a 6x9 won't fit in the z.

If you use your old components and sub and depending on your amp and how many channels it has, you should only need a custom box, Head unit, and install which should be around a grand....
if not you'd need to invest into an amp and amp kit
