Default Stock H/U Broke

The second one in 4 years just broke on my way to work this morning...all buttons except for CD dispense and volume stopped working. The FM button feels jammed but I dont know why that would cause everything else to stop working except for those two buttons. Anyone know if this is just the faceplate thats busted or the system.

The faceplate (exterior of the headunit) is just for looks: it has no function.

Between the two Z's in the family, both of the stock Bose systems went to crap in a few years. My brother's Z didn't read/eject CDs anymore and mine had a stuck button (#2) that would cause none of the other buttons to work. So you might check that jammed FM button.

^^^ were you able to unjam it and get everything to work again or did you have to invest in another one of these wonderful H/U's?

Don't know what year you have or if it's a bose or not. But I do have one from my 03 enthusiast that is in Great shape, I would let go for cheap since its just sitting around. Its just the stock radio, not even sure if anyone uses them anymore lol.

At the time, my brother's unit was replaced under warranty. I was able to unjam mine by repeatedly pressing the stuck button really hard. I had to remind myself not to press that button once it became unstuck lol. I eventually replaced it with a double din indash dvd player.
