needs some recommendation from experts for audio system
hey all, first i have 04 touring with alpine INA-W900 double din hu.
Budget: 1700~1800 (600 for fiberglassing and box and install, so actual budget for the products will be 1200sih)
I am hoping to get an audio set up within this budget.. component speakers, amp, subs..
First, is my budget too low to get everything I want? It may sound stupid but I have not much knowledge about car audio.. so wanting some advice from people here..
Also, Ive been searching and some people were saying to stay away from name brands which are overpricing. If then, what are some other products that I should look for? Recommendation?
One audio shop recommended me Orion and Clarion stuff... i don't hear alot about these products.. can anyone tell me how good these are?
Any advice is appreciated.. I've been doing some research but don't know and don't understand a whole lot about car audio.. haha.. so kindly asking for some help.
Thanks!

YOU AGAIN!

I'm no expert. However, I love good music and great sound systems. I think you'd agree I have one if you heard my vehicle. Anyway, your budget seems more than enough, (but again you didn't say what you goal is - super quality sound, obnoxiously loud, etc), for a system that sounds great but doesn't win ear bleeding sound loudness competitions. For an example, here's what I have in my '08 roadster: H/U Kenwood DDX814 (Double Din, IPOD & USB hookups, DVD, IPOD Video, NAV capable, top of line Execelon radio = better sound), Speaker front = Boston PRO 60's, Rear = Boston PRO 60's, Sub = Boston G110-4 shallow sub in Wicked NAS cubby sealed enclosure. Sub powered by Kenwood 8104d sub amp, other four speakers powered by Kenwood X600F Excelon amp. Wires for all speakers are 14 gauge Steetwire ultrawires. Amp RCA cables are Streetwires ZN7 series either 12 or 16 foot (I don't remember). Reason for mentioning above is that it's an example of what you can do and it sounds great but not rock the neighbourhood loud. Top down you can hear everything and it's bumpin'! Use the internet for best prices (not just Crutchfield - high prices) - use Froogle dot com. You may want to increase your budget some. BTW - From my experience some name brands are good (see above) but I haven't heard all systems to compare. Reasearch MY350Z's audio section for even more advice and info. One last thing on budget, I saved lots of money that I used for system components due to self installation. But that's if you have some experience and patience.
