I am planning to switch the stock HU with a new HU with an aux to connect my ipod. I have bluetooth function and would like to keep using it, as well as the audio controls on handle, after the switch. I will be using it for music only, no nav and movie needed. Which system do you recommend? I would like to use the new HU with the stock speakers, and is this (switching the HU's) something I can do by myself? I have little to no knowledge about audio or electronics.

if you want to use the audio controls make sure u get the right harness for your needs I believe some where in the audio forum they have this answered. As for the HU use this site http://www.crutchfield.com to check out what HU you like and try to find local or on ebay for less I have a JVC 7' but there is a Kenwood that u can add bluetooth and nav and can use the ipod connection

If u never installed a HU before it will take a long time for you to install. Search the audio build forum to see how other did the install took me almost 2 hours to do mine.

 

Hey whats up u should try crutchfield.com u can narrow down stereos by car model, u def will be able to keep ur steering wheel mounted controls, not sure about bluetooth though but u can get aftermarket stereos with it. I just got the Clarion NX700 installed in my Z i love it. Good luck i think the module is called a PAC switch for ur controls to prolly $100-150.
