Default Driver's side sub or strutbar?

Alirght, I just bought an 04 enthusiast this week, and the first thing I need to change is the sound system. Going from an 05 cobalt with just stock speakers it is kind of a downgrade in quality and clarity I feel. Since I don't have the Bose I have no sub and was wondering how difficult it would be to install it in the space behind the DRIVER'S seat. (Obviously will need to replace fronts, rears and add the double din and get an amp)

Also if someone has done it, then switched to the under-strutbar setup was there a major difference? I am debating that as well, but I am an avid golfer and want room for the clubs!

Any advice is welcome, and yes I have searched a ton, even well before I bought the car and can't decide. Also of note a good friend was an installer so he would be doing/helping with all of it.

Thanks for reading my book.

Yes, a 10 inch free-air sub can be installed behind the driver's seat in the stock Bose sub location. Just pop off the panel behind the seat and there should be a hole.
