Default subwoofer at full volume all the time

Hey guys, my cousin just installed a sub and amp as well as an el Cheapo touch head unit from Power Acoustik. ANyway its installed perfectly, turns on, hits fine and all like any system. But the subwoofer does not turn down with the music. If i turn down the volume, the sub pounds at the same db level at all volume levels of music. even if i mute it, the woofer still pounds to the beat. The RCA's come from a standard LINE OUT pre-amp that was at the back of the headunit already. Any help? Thanks

the head unit really isn't bad. and for 300 bucks its whatever, he's not looking to have a hi end system. so no fixes on this?

Check the documentation for the Power Acoustik H/U. I would be surprised if there is no way to control the SubW directly from the H/U.

Is there anything that mentions phase settings or volume control?

Does the documentation mention toggling between amp settings vs. H/U settings?
