Looking for sound quality over loudness... I know they will be a little underpowered, but will it do the job for now?

first of all type r's arent really made for a sealed box there meant to hit hard and get loud so ported is really the only proper way to run an R. Your not giving enough info on the amp or sub. What voice coil config are the subs and what power is the amp putting out at the different ohm levels but ill tell you right now thats not enough power for two R's yeah maybe 1 but not 2 but till you get the right box it doesnt really matter also make sure you wire them properly and check the config. What are you getting the amp for? If ists really cheap get it and sell it. But I promise you 1 of those 10's in a properly tuned box will get louder and hit harder than the 2 in a sealed

I had two 12in Alpine Type-R's in a sealed box and loved it. Very sharp, tight bass. Sure, it's not going to be this loud, thunderous bass that you can hear blocks away, but way more than enough in a hatch.
