Default Speaker Time. Looking for suggetions.

I recently installed an Alpine w900 with all the bells and whistles, and an Alpine 4x150 amp. Now the time has come to get the speakers in there.

Here are the speakers I was thinking about going with:

Focal 165 KR
JL 10W3

When running the amp as a 3 channel will I have enough power for a W3? I'm really not a loud bass guy so would a W1 be a better idea? Also, does anyone think the 165 KR2s are worth the extra cash?

Thanks.

I had an old ID12 in a Sentra back in 2000 and really liked it. The problem is I don't think the shop I'm getting my stuff at carries Image Dynamics. I'm getting almost everything at cost so I'm limited to what they carry.

My personal preference is Focal... but of course that's a personal preference.

The W3 will be enough in the hatch. You can always switch it out later. The Focals are a good choice.

I have a 2003 track with non-bose system. Which type of speakers would be better than I am running now if i replace them. Only looking to replace the door speakers.

If the OP will be using the 'optional' PXA-H100, there should be plenty of adjustment to tame the tweets to anyone's liking.......

Which brings me to why I am not liking newer Alpines - For most of their new top-end units, it seems by the specs you have ZERO sound adjustment unless you buy the optional IMPRINT unit......which to me is not an option. A system NEEDS to be tuned.

Those Focals are a nice set, and if you indeed are getting them at cost, it's a steal.

As for the JL, I'm not a fan. Again, if you are getting it at cost as you say then go for it. It probably won't let you down if installed in a proper enclosure and tuned.

What other brands does this shop carry? Just out of curiosity.

Yeah, I'm ready to finish up with audio and get it tuned. I need a job first
