Default New h.u. but sound is quiter??

I recently got a new head unit and since the install, my speakers aren't as loud as they were before. I have Bose and the h.u. is the Clarion NX409. I was fine with the volume and quality of sound before the new stereo, so I don't want all new speakers, or to run new lines...
Should I try amping up my h.u. Will that make my speakers louder? Sorry for the noob ? but audio isn't my expertise. Thanks in advance.

I just learned that Bose operates at 2ohms and most aftrmrkt h.u.'s at 4 ohms. Explaining the loss in volume. So my next question is, if I replace all of my speakers, will I need to run new wireing to them? Would replacing the Bose amp w/ an aftrmrkt 1 even make a difference?

That is not your issue. The problem is that you are trying to interface into the Bose system. You head unit is not even driving the speakers, the Bose amp is still driving your speakers. If you do a "Search" on Bose you will find out that replacing the headunit and still keeping the Bose system usually does not work well.

I replaced my Bose with a Kenwood HU and had plenty of volume. What wiring harness adapter did you use? Are you coming out of the HU using the RCA jacks or standard?

This is the harness that I used. Metra 70-7551.

Obviously line level out is different. Bose is a strange head unit. Do not know the signal out specs.
