Some one stole my Hood Sensor!!
Well maybe not stolen, but it was never there. I'm supposed to have Nissans vehicle security, so what gives Does the Enthusiast package not come with the hood pin?

No hood switches on the Z. You have to buy an aftermarket alarm for that too work.
It only works on the doors. I belive the alarm is tied into your interior dome light if I am not mistaken.

This Z has it

Look at step 4. This was making me wonder if it was a touring difference.

I ordered the grounding kit from Z-xtreme for my 2004 Performance and had the same finding, no hood sensor. The holes are there, but apparently the sensor was omitted on this year's model.

My 03 Touring has it...must be a Touring only feature ? I wonder if it actually works... HMMM. Looks like I will have to find out later today.
I just tore through the Factory Service Manual pdf files, and there is not one mention of a hood switch for the keyless entry/security system in the entire manual... very strange. I will report back after I check to see if it even works.

From previous posts, I got the idea that the hood sensor was not on the 04 model. I don't know this to be a fact. I do have one on my 03 track.
I don't know the function. I assumed that there was a light in the dash that lit when the hood wasn't closed all the way, but when I tried it there was no dash light.

Not on mine, I have an 03 Base. I popped my hood and then locked the doors with the keyfob. I opened the hood and no horn honking.
I did the same with the trunk and no alarm activation.
It only alarms when I open the doors (when the windows are down, open from the inside through the window)
I wonder which models this is on?
Doesn't really matter to me, since I am getting an aftermarket alarm, but the curiousity has killed the cat for me.
Anone else know the answer to this?

Good to know that it actually works, and is not just hanging out for the ride... hehe
Now the real question...why was it omitted on the 04, and why is it not mentioned in the FSM ?

My '03 Track has one. It's on the passenger side of the engine compartment between the fluid bottles and wheel well. I haven't tested to see if it works, but I assume it does.
